Never have I felt the measure of pride I feel in being part of this group before.
Have I been part of or even led groups in games that were more powerful, more prestigious than this one is now? Of course.
But never have I seen so many players come together in such harmony. I can proudly say that there is not one single asshole
in our entire group, with the possible exception of me, lol.
It is a rare thing, to have so many players in a group and have no infighting, no friction between members, no jockeying
for position, etc. In almost every group Ive ever been in it was like that. A negativity that outweighed any positive
aspect of being in the group. This is a very special collection of very special people, and although not all of us may
always be here, it is this sense of harmony that is the true strength of this group.
The group is named after a very unique fighter squadron from WWI called, The Flying Circus.
That squadron was one of if not the most respected and feared fighter squadrons in WWI.
The dark and evil politics of WWII did not exist at this time and I do not want anyone thinking our group has ANYTHING
at all to do with that kind of thing. I chose this name as a homage to one of my own personal heroes, The Red Baron.
His actual name was Manfred von Richthofen. He collected around Him and led a very special group of pilots.
Many of those pilots become aces and famous in their own right. The Flying Circus was known as such also for the reason that
The Red Baron encouraged His pilots to paint their planes in vivid colors, so that each pilot would stand out in combat, and
also inspire fear in their enemies by letting them know who it was they were up against.
Again I am very proud of this group as a whole, and each and every one of you as an individual.
I believe that if we can maintain the harmony and cohesion of our group as it is now, that our group much like The actual
Flying Circus, will eventually inspire the same respect in our enemies.
To inspire fear of course is not our goal, this is after all just a game, and we are here above all else to have fun and
to enjoy the camaraderie of the group itself.
